This very remote farmhouse is an absolute delight - this is a perfect retreat for a digital detox and for those wanting to really escape.

The owners are both artists and so the house has some lovely pieces of original art, paintings and sculpture.

This is an absolute haven for anyone who really wants to escape for a while to truly relax away from the hustle and bustle of modern day living. There are several acres around the farmhouse with a few "rare breed" Soay Sheep.  There are the most magnificent views of the steep mountain side with walks straight from the door up onto The Black Mountains and Hay Bluff. The lane up to the farmhouse is long and winding; we decided to explore and then followed the lane on past the farm;  it wound around the mountainside until it arrives finally back down to Talgarth but we passed over little bridges with mountain streams, through farm yards, there were several gates on the road to open, over miles of common land with mountain ponies and sheep peacefully grazing.

Accommodation

Sleeps 5 - 3 Bedrooms

The farmhouse kitchen is very simple and unpretentious with the original flag stone floors and a long table for eating around.

A four ring gas cooker with oven, a traditional Rayburn which can also be used for cooking which is wood fired and ensures the kitchen is always kept warm and cosy.

A microwave and a fridge.  In a pantry there is a washing machine and a freezer.

Up a step into  - A music room with a recently well tuned piano and a couple of comfy chairs.

In the sitting room there are sofas, chairs, and a wood burning stove. Please note NO TV as this house is so remote there is no reception - it has been tried!.

Up fairly steep wooden stairs to three bedrooms and the bathroom:

Bedroom 1:  A bedroom with a king size wooden bed

Bedroom 2:  A bedroom with a king size bed

Bedroom 3: A bedroom with a single bed

The bathroom with a bath with a hand held shower over, hand basin and toilet.

From every room in the house there are the most glorious views - I am wondering if perhaps this bathroom and loo is our winner of Best Loo View!

The farmhouse is set between Hay-on-Wye and Talgarth both have several pubs and ample places to buy supplies/ Hay on Wye of course has the Book Festival,  Hay Literary Festival usually the last week in May or early June but book early to secure the house.
