The house has a wonderful large balcony reached from the kitchen - the perfect place to sit in the evenings to watch the sun go down in the West and enjoy a drink. Steps lead to woodland garden which is a secluded sun trap above the house that has amazing views across the valley.

This historic new spacious holiday house has been beautifully furnished and is very well equipped, set on an estate and farm above the village of Llanigon.
The Meeting House is recommended as a fantastic base for exploring the market town of Hay-on-Wye which is only 2.5 miles by road or a 40min wander over the hill if taking the footpath.
Hay the 'Town of Books' offers hours of interesting browsing. It is a very popular destination for visitors with its many bistro's, boutiques, clothes shops, antiques dealers, galleries and some fascinating independent shops showing crafts and fashionable interiors amongst many other things and of course the many second hand bookshops.
There are excellent pubs and restaurants and probably the best ice cream that you will ever taste in the Shepherds!

The phenomenal views will leave you desperate to explore the area further and it's beautiful walks from your door. You will be very near to the Offa's Dyke Path and the National Cycle sustrans route 42 and route 8.  It's only a short distance to the Brecon Beacons National Park and the famous Pen y Fan mountain for the more adventurous walkers. Canadian canoe trips down the river Wye from Glasbury or Hay are always popular with all ages - canoes can be hired locally.   Bicycles can be hired in Hay for both on and off road adventures.   Open swimming in the River Wye or in various local indoor swimming pools some can be privately hired for not much cost.
Further activities such as: local trekking centres from where you can go riding in the mountains, free local tennis courts, various golf courses, childrens play centres nearby, an excellent indoor climbing centre with outdoor zip wires, clay pigeon shooting, archery, hang gliding, paragliding, gliding, rock climbing, abseiling, gorge-walking, rafting, pot-holing, golf, 4x4 off-road driving, paint-balling, orienteering go-carting and quad-biking can all be arranged on discussion with the owner. To ensure availability some activities may need to be booked in advance.
Llangorse lake is nearby and ideal for those who have sailing dinghies or windsurfers.
Local fishing in the Wye or Usk and shooting groups can be arranged if booked in advance.
It is also an easy drive on up to Hay Bluff where there are wild ponies and sheep dotting the hillsides and then over the Gospel Pass to Capel-y-ffin and the Llanthony Valley.

The Gospel Pass itself has been a way through the Vale of Erywas since the time of Iron Age Man and taking the route through the mountains yourself you will be struck by how little it has changed since those times.   It leads down to Llanthony Abbey one of the earliest monasteries founded in Britain. Entry is free but take a little money and treat yourself to a drink from the bar located in the old cellars and then sit in the atmospheric grounds of this 13th century ruin.

Hay on Wye 2.5 miles, Hereford 23 miles, Crickhowell 19 miles, Abergavenny 25 miles, Brecon 16 miles,  Cardiff 57.5 miles.
