Sweet holiday cottage for 3 people on the outskirts of Hay-on-Wye.  Romantic and cosy, it has a stream running past the end of the pretty garden.  It is the perfect base to enjoy Hay and for walkers and mountain bikers to explore the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons.

You'll get a warm welcome to Kingfisher Cottage.  This Victorian cottage is a fantastic setting to get away from city life and relax.  The Dulas Brook flows past the end of the garden, where you may see an otter, certainly a kingfisher and many other water loving birds.

Hay-on-Wye has many excellent second hand book shops to browse, several really interesting boutique shops, antique and craft shops as well as several friendly local pubs, cafes, and an interesting and varied restaurants - Tomatitos Tapas, St. John's (make sure you book), Booths Bookshop, cinema and cafe. At the top of the town is The Swan Hotel and restaurant which has a very good reputation for food. The River Cafe at Glasbury is well worth a visit.

From the cottage it is easy to walk down to the River Wye, hire a canoe or fish for Trout and Salmon.  Hire Mountain Bikes from Drovers Cycles and ride a mountain bike or a walk up to The Black Mountains and Hay Bluff.

Customer Comments

  • Sept 2018 | We've enjoyed a fabulous week in your lovely cottage - beautifully furnished, well equipped and very cosy! What a great location - so relaxing, sitting in the garden next to the brook and only a 5 minute walk to the shops and restaurants! Can recommend dining at Red Indigo, Blue Boar and the Three Tuns. The information booklet was very helpful! Many thanks for the lovely flowers and delicious welshcakes. Much Appreciated! Highly Recommended!
  • August 2018 | What a beautifully presented cottage, with everything you could possibly need. Enjoyed many hours in the tranquil garden with the sound of the stream. Hay is a great place to explore and we will definitely be back. We also enjoyed a meal at the Red indigo. Thanks to the owner for making everything so perfect.
