The Hendre is a lovely period family home in the village of Talgarth. Orginally a cider house called Three Cocks Inn, the property was converted to a home in the 1930's, but the wide doorways downstairs give a clue as to its original purpose.
The house is situated in the heart of the village on a quiet road close to the 13th century St. Gwendolines Church. Talgarth was featured in the recent BBC series "Village SOS" showing the successful development of a working mill project. The mill is now open to visitors and has an excellant cafe overlooking the river. The village also has an award winning butcher and is within a short drive of many excellant restaurants. The area is a foodies paradise, nearby favourites include the award winning Griffin Inn Felinfach and the Walnut Tree Inn near Abergavenny. The area is an excellent base for walking, gliding and mountain biking, there are footpaths leading straight up from the common onto the mountains of Myndd Troed and a lovely walk from the village up to the waterfalls and bluebell woods at Pwll yr Wrach.
