The property is well placed for easy access to the Brecon Beacons for outside adventures as well as being a short walk from cafes, pubs, groceries and, of course, bookshops. It lived up to its pictures and descriptions, and was a great place to spend a week. We wouldnt hesitate to stay here again next time were in the area.

This is a homely and very well equipped modern house just outside Hay on the English side, an easy 5 minute walk to the clock tower and with the river path to the Warren closer. Relaxing views of the countryside to the rear. Everything worked very well and we had no complaints. It was pretty quiet.

A fabulous house right on the (Herefordshire) edge of Hay on Wye, big enough for us all. Clean, cosy and with the best equipped kitchen we've ever had, good enough to do a full Christmas lunch with all the trimmings. The kitchen/breakfast room is a sun trap and large enough for us all to sit, eat, hang out, play games and cook with the dining room Read morea useful extra room for studying, working online, etc - we never quite made it in there to eat as the kitchen is such a nice room. Our family of four and dog had a wonderful week staying here. The house is extremely comfortable and very clean with everything you could possibly need. The location is very convenient being so close to the centre of Hay and with the main supermarket across the road. I would totally recommend this as a place to stay.

Beautiful property and lovely location. Was convenient having the coop across the road and the takeaways and pubs just up the road. Large backyard that is fully enclosed which our dog loved. Just needed more attention to the cleaning and maybe a tv in the bedroom would be nice. I would stay here again and recommend it to others.

The Brecon Beacons is a vast, mountainous and rural region of Wales. Stretching 42 miles from east to west and covering an area of 520 square miles, the Brecon Beacons is dominated by the National Park of the same name. Split into three main areas, the Black Mountain in the west, the Brecon Beacons National Park and Fforest Fawr in the middle, and the Black Mountains in the east; each is a wild, bold and inspiring place to visit on holiday. With 1232 miles of public trails which includes the 95-mile-long Beacons Way, it’s a wayfarer’s delight. One of four Dark Skies Reserves in the UK (and one of 11 in the world), stargazers can delight in the open night sky, to enjoy the darkness in full splendour. The Fforest Fawr is a UNESCO Global Geopark because of its important geology and a need to conserve and protect the area from negative over development.

Stay at a self-catering cottage in the mountains and cascading woodlands or out on the moors; you can also stay in one of the Brecon Beacon’s lovely towns like Hay-on-Wye, Crickhowell, Llangorse or Brecon. Outdoor lovers will enjoy a choice of easy to challenging treks up and around Sugar Loaf Mountain, Carn Pica, Craig Cerrig-Gleisiad, Pen y Fan, or Hatterall Ridge (and many more besides). Take in uniquely Welsh attractions like Dan-yr-Ogof (the National Showcaves Centre for Wales), The Big Pit Mining Museum, Llanthony Priory, Carreg Cennen Castle, Fourteen Locks, and the Brecon Beacons Mountain Railway. Wildlife abounds in the Brecon Beacons, and it’s a great place to spot red kites and discover the successful story of their reintroduction to the UK’s skies at the Red Kite Centre. There’s so much to do for outdoor lovers and extreme sports fans here, so why not book your self-catering holiday in the Brecon Beacons today?

Our holiday cottages across the Brecon Beacons have been carefully selected. From dog-friendly cottages in the countryside to large farmhouses on the mountainsides and everything in between, we have a holiday in the Brecon Beacons to suit you.
