This sweet and stylish barn sits less than a mile outside ‘Book Town’. Explore the literary haunts of Hay-on-Wye and get inspired with a walk through the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Less than a mile from the heart of Hay-on-Wye, coincide your trip with the annual literary festival (May-June) or simply browse the plethora of bookshops and pick up a new read to enjoy throughout your trip. Pack up a picnic and make the 1.5-mile journey to The Warren, a lovely shingle beach on the banks of the River Wye. Alternatively, you could hire a canoe in Glasbury, 5 miles away, and take to the water for a day to remember. For panoramic views across the Black Mountains and beyond, climb Hay Bluff which is 6 miles from home.

Sitting close to the winding River Wye, less than a mile from the bustling literary haunt of Hay-on-Wye, enjoy a romantic rural retreat in this charming barn on a working small holding. Traditional features such as the flagstone floor add character and the wood burner is a welcoming comfort when returning home from days in the great outdoors.

Exuding sophisticated style, make yourself right at home in this lovely barn conversion where the open-plan living area is a lovely space in which to relax. Fire up the wood burner in the lounge or throw open the French doors on sunny days to let the outside in whilst you while away time in front of the TV. When it’s time for dinner, make use of the spacious kitchen area and cook up a storm which can be plated up either inside or out, making use of the pretty patio on warm days. There is also a BBQ which you can light for sundowner meals in summer months. Dressed with vintage French furniture, the king-size bedroom is a beautiful space in which to drift off and rest your head. The shower room has a large shower for freshening up in before you head out for adventures. The lower barn occupies the ground floor of a two-storey barn conversion.

Also available to book at this property is the first floor Gardeners Granary accommodation for two guests. Ideal for parties travelling together but requiring separate living space.

Lovely little cottage, ideal for the 2 of us. Easy walking distance from Hay but quiet and out of the way. Appreciated the Christmas touches and the stove was wonderful after our wet walks!

Lovely property in a really relaxing setting - fantastic long weekend had in a beautiful location. Warm welcome and a nice touch were the freshly laid eggs along with essentials like bread and milk. Just perfect.

Beautiful setting with easy stroll down to the River Wye. Fun interactions with the goats, chickens, geese, ducks & turkeys. Enjoyed watching so much wildlife. Charming barn conversion (lower barn) Perfectly positioned.Short walk of 5mins to CO-OP for supplies & 5mins further on is Hay-on-Wye. Very quiet and tranquil. If you go in summer there are lots of flies, as it's a farm, so not able to sit out nor open windows. Otherwise it was a lovely relaxing location. Beautiful cottage with easy access to Hay. It was lovely to be surrounded by all the animals. Good mixture of privacy but also kind touches from hosts, such as providing eggs, milk, and butter. Would definitely want to return for longer to explore the area more.

Lovely welcome, kind hosts. A delightful little holiday cottage; on a small holding, so expect animals. The donated eggs provided were awesome. Close proximity to Hay on Wye an advantage, ditto the local Co-op. Easy parking. Some people might like darker curtains...not me !

The barn has been beautifully renovated and the owners charming. Welcome pack of milk, bread, butter and eggs from the small holding; donation of two delicious goats cheese made by the owners. A beautiful setting for a couples break.

Sian and Joe gave such a warm welcome. The comfortable cottage had a useful welcome pack including their own eggs and goats cheese which were both really tasty. It's an easy 5 minute walk to the edge of Hay (and the Co-op) and a further 5-10mins to the centre. An ideal place for two people who want to get away from it all and yet be only 20 minutes walk from Hay on Wye, its famous book shops and all the other things it has to offer in terms of shops pubs, restaurants and cafes.
