In the village of Craswall and the beautiful Black Mountains just north of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Pop to Longtown for local produce just a short distance down the road or take walk to the local pub for refreshments. In nearby Hay-on-Wye, where you’re bound to find a book on just about anything, it is full of independent and local shops, galleries, cafes and great events including the renowned Hay-on-Wye Literary Festival. Stroll the local paths or hike to the summit of Pen-y-Fan, the highest point in South Wales. Take a ride on the Brecon Beacons Mountain Railway and uncover the history at the Big Pit Mining Museum. Perfect for two to relax or enjoy an active holiday.

This private off-grid camp includes the quirky arched roof carriage,  shower, eco compost loo cabins, solar panels and is set on the idyllic 17 acre farm with horses, donkeys and chickens. Walk up the steps into this stylish arched roof carriage with lovely little touches throughout. If you decide to eat in there’s a small gas oven and a gas hob, cool store and sink. The water will need to be heated on the hob for washing up though, a small chore in this lovely campers setting. The folding dining table and sturdy chairs are perfectly positioned by the window to enjoy a hearty breakfast, maybe use the ingredients from the welcome hamper with eggs, baked beans, bread, butter and jam, whilst overlooking the fields and Black Mountain range. After a full day out snuggle up by the wood burner, listen to the radio and later retire to the comfortable full size double bed at the end of the carriage.

Outside you will find the gas powered hot shower, modern eco compost loo and the camp fire already set up with all the utensils you need to cook on the open flame. Relax around the table and chairs,  or on the veranda on the carriage. Wherever you choose to sit at the camp you will be able to embrace the most spectacular mountain and countryside views. Explore this 17 acre sanctuary farm with horses, donkeys and chickens. Walk down to the water hole for wild swimming, meet with the owners for private donkey picnics in the woods or find out more from the resident horse listener. This is a unique and special place for a couple to retreat and unwind. There is private off-road parking for one car at the property. The owners are on-site though privacy is assured.

Wonderful Wagon in beautiful surroundings with the most welcoming hosts! Couldn't have done anything more for us during our stay! Sue the owner was very lovely and welcoming, she even charged our iPad for us as our power banks wouldnt charge it. Me and my boyfriend stayed here for our 2 year anniversary, it was an amazing stay, long hikes in the day, come back for a shower, jump in the hot tub and cook stews over the open fire and just admire the view and eat smores by the fRead moreire. Fabulous shepherds hut in a beautiful secluded setting overlooking the cats back mountain. Wonderful location to totally relax and unwind in the hot tub after exploring the hills. This is a fantastic little place to stay, the owners were great very helpful and always on hand if you required any help. The local shop is within walking distance and has everything you need. We had an amazing time at the dream catcher wagon,sue was a lovely and friendly host who left us a lovely welcome hamper and explained how to use the hot tub. We really enjoyed cooking on the open fire and relaxing in the hot tub in the evening. The hut was very clean and comfy and stayed warm after well after the log burner had gone out. Absolutely gorgeous peaceful Shepards hut. Couldnt imagine a better view while still having so much privacy. Sue and John were incredibly helpful to us and were very patient when we got lost in the dark trying to find the site! The wagon is very cosy with the stove alight and keeps lovely and warm. A beautiful wagon in an absolutely stunning location. Fully equipped with everything you could need. No electricity but solar powered lights and a gas powered shower. Owners were happy to charge my powerbank for me halfway through the week. Sue was lovely and welcoming and I can't fault the service. Covid safe from all aspects. If you are seeking a remote location and a step into the wild then look no further. This property takes you off grid and creates a wonderful environment to enjoy a break. The views you'd never tire of and the kitchen is well equipped for cooking. Consider your food purchases as there is no fridge only a well monitored cool box system. This is the holy grail of getaways if you want total relaxation coupled with amazing views, great facilities and lovely hosts. If you like walking you can do the Cats Back Circular direct from the door and still be home early for a cup of tea in the rocking chair on the porch and a paddle or swim in the river at the bottom of the field. The Brecon Beacons is a vast, mountainous and rural region of Wales. Stretching 42 miles from east to west and covering an area of 520 square miles, the Brecon Beacons is dominated by the National Park of the same name. Split into three main areas, the Black Mountain in the west, the Brecon Beacons National Park and Fforest Fawr in the middle, and the Black Mountains in the east; each is a wild, bold and inspiring place to visit on holiday.
