A recently converted Welsh barn for a small family in a traditional courtyard setting, within the magnificent Brecon Beacons National Park and near the canal and River Usk.
Settle into a thoroughly enjoyable break at this beautiful barn conversion near the hamlet of Pencelli, 3 miles from the cathedral town of Brecon. Up to four guests are welcome to stay at the two-bedroom cottage, which is set within the surroundings of an 18th-century farmhouse. Watch the bright barges pass on the canal and even hire one yourselves. Walk along the towpath to Brecon, passing Brynich Aquaduct on your way. Spend time browsing in the town’s independent shops, pick up some local produce and head home after a cup of tea and a Welsh cake. Keen cyclists can also follow a section of the 55-mile Taff Trail, which runs from Brecon to Cardiff Bay and passes close by.
Enter your attractive, stone barn conversion via one step to find single-storey accommodation that blends modern living with rustic style. Beautiful exposed beams make quite a statement, yet this holiday home is also bright, airy and inviting. At the heart of the property is the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, where you can stoke up the wood burner, relax on the comfortable seating and watch TV, listen to a CD or the DAB radio. Whip up a few tasty dishes in your well-equipped kitchen, complete with electric oven, microwave, fridge (access to a shared freezer), dishwasher and washing machine, and then enjoy them together around the table. Choose between two equally inviting bedrooms, a king-size and a twin, both with characterful sloping ceilings, and indulge in a long hot bubble bath at the end of the day in the stylish bathroom.
Soak up the sunshine in the courtyard in front of the barn and even enjoy breakfast out here on warm mornings. You’ll find you have generous parking at the holiday home and that bike storage is also available.
Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
