Whitewalls was originally a terrace of traditional of Quarrymen's cottages with the backdrop of Llangattock Escarpment rising up on the mountainside behind - always popular with climbers and walkers. Whitewalls is now a substantial luxurious family house with the most magnificent panoramic views; it is set in a large grassed garden for children, perfect to play with a further enclosed walled terrace behind. In the front of the cottage there is a sunny stone terrace, great for BBQs and watching the sunset with the most fantastic views over to the Sugar Loaf Mountain and The Black Mountains. Whitewalls is a five minute drive (a pretty steep road in places) down to Crickhowell and Llangattock with two pubs serving food in Llangattock and lots more in Crickhowell. From the house there is immediate access onto the open hillside for walkers and mountain bikes can be hired locally. The road up from the village is very steep and winds around the hillside and then over the mountain eventually reaching Brynmawr and The Heads of The Valleys Road, Abergavenny and beyond. A perfect spot for to stay to enjoy the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains or to visit Cardiff and the South Wales Valleys which are less than an hour drive.  As shown on a Home Sweet Holiday Home ITV1 Holiday programme

    Customer Comments

    • This place is utter magic; the pretty, steep lanes lead you to this hidden gem, nestled on the side of a mountain looking over Crickhowell. The views from Whitewalls are simply breath-taking. As a party of two families we all had ample space in this property to feel we could 'spread out' and relax. When the sun shines in Wales its paradise and we had a sun filled weekend so the children ran wild in the garden and made the most of the swings and slides with the youngest member of our party, a near permanent fixture in the toddler swing. The large kitchen table hosted many a meal and the outside table made for an al fresco lunch party with local lamb cooked on the bbq. We stumbled upon an incredible walk, where the children picked wild strawberries and discovered 'dragon's caves' and waterfalls. This is our second stay at Whitewalls and we intend to book again for next year.
    • Having promised our LA dwelling friends a visit to Wales for many years, we chose Whitewalls and could not have been happier with the property. Just prior to the visit our friend discovered that his 99 year old Grandmother was born and raised at Llangattock Park just minutes from Whitewalls, this fantastic co-incidence added a touch of magic to the weekend and of course an obligatory trip taken to look at the house and take photographs for Granny. Superbly equipped with extremely spacious rooms and contemporary decor with very sweet finishing touches such as lovely welsh blankets and fabulous art work. The garden was perfect for the children with a really well designed play area; perfect for the bigger and smaller children alike. Wild walks accompanied by luxurious comfort which included large and extremely comfortable beds, the rooms made for the perfect weekend getaway, we all can't wait to come back. We had the best time, what a fantastic, comfortable place to stay, with superb views.
