I have to say that the whole experience from booking the holiday cottage to actually visiting has been a perfect and smooth transaction, we decided to book a weekend away for our 11th Wedding anniversary at the very last moment (4 days before), your staff were so helpful and sent me through all cottages that were available for the days we requested which made making a choice so easy. The cottage we stayed in Hollyfield at Crickhowell was by far the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in….. exceeding all expectations, it was so relaxed the dogs were made very welcome by the two resident dogs who came on walks with us………..the cottage itself was of high quality, lovely bright and clean with wonderful panoramic views of the mountains……the log fire added to the comfort when the weather was wet and windy, and the bed was so comfortable!.........All in all your staff and the cottage owners should be proud of the service given, I will certainly book again through your company and would love to stay back at Hollyfield, I have already given out your website to several friends. Once again many thanks.
Absolutely loved our stay at Hollyfield, we had high expectations as the pictures are stunning, and it's totally lived up to them. We fell in love with the place, ideal for us and our dog, fantastic walks and views. Everything inside is lovely, and has everything you need to feel at home. Thank you for helping us find such a gem!!
We booked the holiday cottage, Hollyfield cottage, due to the pictures on the website and were not disappointed. It is a lovely cottage, fully equipped with modern accessories, and ideally located for exploring both the Beacons and Black Mountains. Our Labrador, Poppy, thoroughly enjoyed the large garden and watching the nearby chickens. The caretaker, Atia, was most helpful, very welcoming, and kept the grounds of the estate beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were not surprised to find that it is fully booked for most of 2015 and intend to book again for 2016
We have just returned from our stay at Hollyfield Cottage in Crickhowell. We had a pretty poor experience with the first place we stayed in near Cardiff for the first 7 days - please note that is not one we booked with yourselves. It was so lovely to go on to stay at such a beautiful place with fantastic scenery and a secure garden for the dog. The place was clean and comfortable and they had thought of every comfort and convenience - all the kitchen facilities including proper sharp kitchen knives and easy to use appliances made the (rather too short) break so pleasurable for us - sometimes simple things make a difference! We will be planning a return break to this property sometime this autumn and a weeks stay there next summer! We wished that we had booked Hollyfield for the whole of our holiday!! We could have kicked ourselves that we didn't go through you as we normally had - it does help that the cottages are supported by a reliable company such as your selves
I loved Hollyfield, Ike and his family very helpful, if needed. I had thought the cottage ( from street view ) was behind the black/ white Lodge house ( i.e., I thought THAT was the house !) So I was very pleased that it was much further back from the road. The doggies Frankie and Nellie were charming. Ike and wife were lovely, hens therapeutic ... fabulous eggs. It really is a lovely cottage; I used the terrific wood burning stove; excellent. Many thanks, and I hope that I have found a cottage for myself to live in at Gwehelog, thanks to my stay !Again many thanks, a wonderful place to stay,
I had an amazing time; the cottage is beautiful and so homely. The owners/caretaker left a welcome basket containing milk, eggs (fresh from the chickens behind the cottage), bread and welsh cakes - it was a fantastic surprise and extremely tasty too! The wood burner with a basket full of logs was great and warmed the cottage up very quickly (I went beginning of November). The enclosed garden was perfect for my dog, it's a great size and he loved to stand and watch the chickens in the next field. I will definitely be booking another stay there next year!
The cottage was fantastic - probably the best place I've stayed in the UK. We'll hopefully be back there again sometime soon.
It was our second stay at Hollyfield and we absolutely love it. We've stayed in a lot of cottages and by far Hollyfield is the best quality. The standard is just on a different level. The location and setting is fantastic. We noticed that it was already very busy for next year so have booked again for next year. Booking is very straightforward and we've never had any problems.
Crickhowell is a pretty and bustling little town and a great place to book a holiday cottage. It's easy to get to, it has the Black Mountains to the East and the Brecon Beacons to the West, there are lots of great shops, pubs and restaurants to enjoy and it's steeped in history with its castle and the neighbouring Tretower Court and Castle. And we've got a selection of over 60 lovely cottages in Crickhowell and the beautiful surrounding countryside.
Crickhowell is a great base for outdoor enthusiasts, with fantastic cycling and walking in the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons.
