Dyffryn Beusych Cottage is set in a sunny and south facing spot with open breathtaking views to the Sugar Loaf Mountain in The Black Mountains and Crickhowell and The Usk Valley to the west; the owner is a very gardener and has lovingly clipped and cut her topiary trees on the bank below the cottage over a number of years - turning them into quite a feature of the property. This is a wonderful remote location - the owner does live next door but is very private and unobtrusive - it is a truly magical and peaceful place to spend a few days holiday.
Dyffryn Beusych means "dry steading in the valley" and is set on a 300 acre hill sheep farm at high up on the hillside running up to 1200 feet with pasture and ancient woodland. Visitors can picnic and walk on the farm and there is great walking onto the hills and up The Llantony Valley. Superb hill walking and many easy walks, pony trekking, mountain biking, hang-gliding and caving are all available locally. As shown on a Home Sweet Holiday Home ITV1 Holiday programme.
Sleeps 3, 1-2 bedrooms. Once featured in "Great Escapes Magazine" this cottage was chosen as a truly great place to 'get away from it all'. It is also a member of the Green Dragon scheme to promote good environmental practices.
Kitchen: The cottage has a well fitted and equipped kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, fridge, ample work and storage space and a breakfast table.
Sittingroom: The large sitting/dining room has a light and warm pine floor with antique rugs, is really beautifully furnished with some most attractive pieces of antique furniture, TV with Freeview & DVD and video. Large comfortable sofa and armchairs, a wonderful great stone fireplace with a woodburning stove and plenty of books and games to play in the evenings after a good day out or a walk. This sittingroom is really a lovely relaxing room to curl up with a book and a drink.
A galleried landing with a single bed.
The Master Bedroom: has a double bed and there is also a single bed - so ideal for two people not wanting to share a bed or a couple with a child.
Bathroom: This is very pretily decorated with a bath with shower over, a handbasin and toilet.
Llanbedr is 2 miles. Crickhowell 4 miles.
