Just a few miles from the breathtaking vistas of the stunning Brecon Beacons National Park, this inviting property makes a lovely retreat for two. The cottage is set on a 7-acre smallholding with horses and sheep, which you’re welcome to visit. Just outside the picturesque village of Cwmdu, this tastefully updated barn conversion makes a tranquil getaway for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers exploring this spellbinding region. A fabulous bolthole for couples getting away from it all, the cottage features exposed ceiling beams and wonderful far-reaching views. Originally a threshing barn, this attractive property has a spacious and relaxing open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The cosy lounge is perfect for sitting back, watching a movie, or catching up with a good book. The dining area is by the French doors, providing a lovely light-filled space for sharing a romantic meal for two which you can rustle up in the thoughtfully designed kitchen. Upstairs, the delightful first-floor bedroom features a king-size bed. The bedroom has impressive, exposed beams in the vaulted ceiling, along with an en-suite shower room. French doors lead out from the dining area into the generous garden which features a patio with outdoor furniture, providing a perfect spot for a morning coffee, BBQ or a glass of wine in the evening. Cwmdu has a welcoming pub and well-stocked shop, and is perfect for exploring the Brecon Beacons. The busy market town of Llandeilo (7 miles) offers a variety of restaurants, cafes and pubs. Local attractions include the remains of Talley Abbey overlooking Upper Talley Lake (1 mile), Dinefwr Castle and Newton House, Carreg Cennen Castle, Aberglasney Gardens, Herbert’s Quarry and the National Botanic Garden of Wales (all within 16 miles).

What an amazing stay we had. Amazing cottage in beautiful picturesque surroundings. Walks from your doorstep and spoilt for choice with the rest of the beautiful surroundings within 30 minutes drive. Cottage was well equipped, spacious and had everything we needed. Hosts were perfect and very helpful. Would highly recommend.

A Fantastic cottage hidden away in a lovely quiet and relaxing area, Chris & Les were very welcoming and helpful. We would like to stay again when time allows us too and would recommend if you want somewhere to get away from it all.

The cottage was lovely, definitely top of our list of places we have stayed. Lots to see and not too far to the coast. Breakfast outside with the wonderful views made our holiday memorable. Chris and les are the perfect hosts without being intrusive in any way. Most good pub/restaurants only open from Thursday to Sunday. We absolutely loved our stay in Cariad cottage, we personally loved the home from home feel of the cottage and needed for nothing , the location blew us away,Les and Chris were absolute fantastic hosts and a pleasure to meet,. Wonderful cottage in a quiet farm location with exceptional views across the valley to the hills beyond. The property is very well equipped and nicely decorated and furnished. There is plenty of space and it is conveniently arranged inside and out. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We really appreciated the welcome pack and the additional Read moreproduce from the smallholding. The location was good for visiting the botanic gardens and Aberglasney gardens.
