Charming rustic little cottage close to the river Caerfanell in the popular village of Talybont- on-Usk. Just a couple of minutes' walk away is the excellent local shop, cafe and post office and the four ever popular village pubs, The White Hart, The Usk Inn, The Travellers Rest and The Star Inn with its beer garden and access to the canal towpath. Just up the road there are the waterfalls at Blaen-y-glyn and the large picturesque reservoirs with a Nature Reserve and walks straight up onto the Brecon Beacons. This is an excellent base for walking, touring and mountain biking - The Taff Trail route passes through and the Mountain Bike Route begins in the village. The Henry Vaughan Trail starts just opposite the cottage above the village.
Sleeps 3 - 1 Double, 1 Single
The ground floor is open plan and has a kitchen with washing machine, electric hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge and small freezer compartment. Sink and wooden work surfaces and plenty of cupboard and storage space. Wooden floors throughout and traditional doors and fireplace all add to the country cottage charm.
The cosy fireplace has an excellent woodburning stove, logs supplied, Freeview TV, DVD player, radio and CD Player. Books and assortment of games.
There is a sofa and one small chair, a bay window with window seats looks out on to the garden, plus a dining table and chairs for two.
The downstairs bathroom: Is well fitted with bath and electric shower over, toilet and wash handbasin, underfloor heating and heated towel rail.
Up very STEEP traditional stairs (no hand rail) to two bedrooms:
Bedroom 1: The master bedroom has a very low double bed, this room looks out over the very pretty cottage garden.
Bedroom 2: Has a single bed, probably more suitable for a young adult, again with pretty views over towards the canal.
The garden is a pretty cottage garden with borders and a small lawn, private and enclosed and has a patio area with table and chairs and a barbeque.
Street side parking available near by, no designated spaces.
Brecon 7 miles. Crickhowell 8 miles. Abergavenny 18 miles.
