A wonderful large family house to sleep 10 people, superbly located in a remote yet accessible location near the picturesque Blaen y Glyn waterfalls and beside the Talybont Reservoir, which is now a SSI with its large number of seasonal visiting waterfowl. There is a 'hide' for bird watchers beside the reservoir and trout fishing on the reservoir. The Taff Cycle trail runs past the house, so bring your mountain bikes or can be hired locally. Only a few minutes walk into the woods behind the house is an interesting neolithic site. Brecon Mountain Railway is also only a few minutes drive up the valley. This is a very popular spot for hill walkers and mountain bikers being an easy access point on to the mountains. As shown on ITV "Holiday Home Sweet Home".

    Customer Comments

    • The barn was absolutely perfect and the owners couldn't do enough for us! Also, we had a superb Sunday lunch at the Travellers Rest, which was one of your suggested venues. Thank you very much for helping to make the weekend a very memorable one for all my family.
    • We drove up the pretty winding road past Talybont reservoir arriving at Abercynafon Farm with excellent directions given to us by Breconcottages.com. One of us had to get out to open the gate which then leads you into the cobbles driveway of the farm barn entrance, pretty and inviting. We were more than pleasantly suprised to walk in and find the most enormous kitchen with big square kitchen table ample space to seat our two large families, each with three children. Two comfy sofas, a big gas cooker, flag stone floor (with underfloor heating!) heaven! There was even a cake waiting for us on the kitchen table. Before continue I must mention the boot room, with outside sink, super convenient for messy, muddy boots & dogs to sleep. Did I mention the drying room? Just SO brilliant! A warm room near the front door for all those wet clothes from rainy walks - genius!Easy walks just literally out of the front door, pretty waterfalls, woodland walks and forest hikes.
