Head to the market town of Hay-on-Wye (5 miles) to wander through the quaint bookshops and stop off at an independent cafe for a bite to eat, or you can travel to the Black Mountains for a challenging hike to find the best viewpoints in the area. For a day out on the water, Llangorse Lake (8 miles) hires out stand up paddleboards, canoes and pedalos which are sure to please all the family.
