An original DAF army truck that has been cleverly restored, creating a comfortable and well-equipped base suitable for all that come to stay. Set in the Wye Valley, you can make the most of the great outdoors.
Set in a peaceful location in a pretty complex of properties overlooking the Wye Valley, this cleverly-converted DAF army truck is a truly unique accommodation option. Sleeping four people in one bedroom, it’s a great glamping option for romantic couples or adventurous families of two adults and two children who want to spend their days canoeing the River Usk or mountain biking in the Forest of Dean, and their evenings enjoying BBQ dinners on the truck’s private terrace or taking a dip in the wood-fired hot tub.
Climb the set of wooden steps at the side of the truck and step inside your unique holiday home. Kick off your day by making your morning coffee in the small camping kitchenette area, and enjoy your cuppa in the truck’s driving seat. After a busy day exploring the Wye Valley, come home to your truck and head out to the private terrace to fire up the charcoal BBQ and enjoy an al fresco dinner with your loved ones. As evening falls, take a well-earned dip in the outdoor hot tub or head into the truck to slip onto a sofa and relax in front of the TV. When it’s time for bed, one of the sofas easily converts into a king-size bed, and if you have children along with you for the adventure, there are two built-in bunk beds that they will love.
Hire a bike and hit the fabulous trails in the Forest of Dean (24 miles), or hire a paddle-board and explore the tranquillity of the River Wye (19.5 miles). Alternatively, spend a glorious morning wandering around Tintern Abbey (10.5 miles), which dates back to 1131, or head to broadcaster Kate Humble’s Humble by Nature in Penallt (17 miles)-and spend a day honing your farm skills.
