Set within the heart of the countryside, this peaceful retreat is perfect for couples wanting to enjoy the best of the Brecon Beacons, with access from your doorstep into the picturesque valley and the Hatterrall Ridge.

Escape to the country in this luxurious romantic bolthole in the Brecon Beacons National Park. The studio benefits from an elevated position, with magnificent views over the valley, and has a multitude of walking routes directly from its front door. After an action-packed day, return to your retreat to toast marshmallows under the stars or snuggle up in front of the roaring wood burner. The property is within easy reach of the picturesque town of Hay-on-Wye (15 miles) and the foodie haven of Abergavenny (8 miles). Leave your muddy walking boots in the lobby before stepping into this stunning, open-plan accommodation. The decor is the perfect combination of rustic and contemporary, with fabulous, exposed woodwork sitting alongside vibrant tiles and paintwork. Rustle up a tasty meal using local produce in the stylish kitchen, to enjoy together at the wooden dining table. On a chilly evening, fire up the wood burner and crack open a bottle of wine to enjoy whilst watching your favourite film on the Smart TV. Outside, a private terrace overlooks the valley. Here, you can dine alfresco using the BBQ or simply sit back, relax, and soak up the idyllic surroundings. Pull on your walking boots and set off on foot from the studio and onto the Hatterrall Ridge. This 10-mile stretch follows the England/Wales border and also forms part of the Offa’s Dyke Path. After 3.5 miles you’ll come to the atmospheric ruins of Llanthony Priory. Backed by the dramatic Black Mountains, the 12th-century priory is a photographer’s dream, particularly if you’re lucky enough to catch it at dawn or dusk. If you’re keen to try the local delicacies, journey to Abergavenny. The lively market town hosts a popular food festival each year and also has a huge selection of interesting eateries and open-air markets.

This is our second visit and the place is even better than it was two years ago. The Studio is absolutely perfect and complements the amazing views whatever the weather. And the walks are right on your doorstep - we used the car once just to visit the local shop.

Fantastic location in the grounds of a very smart modern house ran by a very friendly couple. We had the bonus of a heatwave so the outdoor area was used extensively with BBQ in the early evening then a fire pit in the night. Very quiet - bliss
