Property code: BN359

Offering stunning panoramic country views, this delightfully converted 16th-century Welsh longhouse makes a tranquil and relaxing retreat for a couple or family looking for a quiet spot just outside Hay-on-Wye.

Escape to this peaceful bolthole with family and friends, just 3 miles from the bustling literary town of Hay-on-Wye. Enjoy quiet evenings snuggled in front of the TV, or lively evenings challenging friends in the games barn, shared with other properties on-site. A perfect base from which to explore, and dog-friendly too, make yourself at home and plan your adventures.

Step up and into this welcoming cottage where exposed beams line the ceiling and light floods in through large windows. Boasting beautiful views across the rolling countryside, kick back and unwind in the lounge where you can steal an armchair for yourself or share the comfortable sofa. Though compact, the kitchen has all the space you need to rustle up meals with ease and is equipped with an electric oven, hob, microwave and a dishwasher. Dine either inside or out at the dining table or on your private patio. Let off some steam in the shared games barn where you can compete at table tennis or short tennis. Perfect for any four-legged guests, the enclosed meadow is also shared with the neighbouring properties and boasts far-reaching views. Head to bed on the first floor and watch your head on the characterful sloping ceilings. Freshen up in the family shower room before heading out to explore.

Tread well-trodden paths close to home, such as the Offa’s Dyke Path and the Wye Valley Walk. Llangorse Lake, the largest natural lake in South Wales, is a 15-mile trip where activity centres await, or you can stroll the water’s edge. A 5-mile journey will take you to the National Trust’s The Begwyns, where The Roundabout commands views across the entire Brecon Beacons National Park.

We had a fabulous stay the Warren Cottage. The owners are very welcoming and the various small touches (e.g. wine and chocolate on the table - it was Easter while we visited) were appreciated. The cottage is very comfortable and the views are stunning. Our kids (7 & 10) loved the play barn and the range of toys on offer. A great location to relax aRead morend explore the local area. Hide
