A magnificent stone Welsh longhouse that sleeps up to five people, this cottage offers total peace and tranquillity with scenic rural surroundings.

Located on a 220-acre farm, this stunning stone-built Welsh longhouse provides idyllic holiday accommodation for five guests. Set in a remote, tranquil, and beautiful part of the Brecon Beacons National Park, this spacious, traditional, and tastefully decorated cottage makes a fantastic holiday base for families and couples. Retaining many original features including slate flooring, oak beams, and an inglenook fireplace, this is a perfect base for walkers, climbers, and nature lovers. The cottage is surrounded by organic farmland, with streams, pools, and woodland to explore, with chances to spot red kites, buzzards, deer and Welsh ponies.

 

Stepping into this adorable cottage you will find the gorgeous lounge which features comfortable seating, exposed beams, and a cosy wood burner. The country-style kitchen/diner has a range of equipment, a solid oak dining table and a seating area overlooking the surrounding farmland. The ground floor also has a pretty, light-filled garden room, as well as a large wet room. The first floor offers three tastefully decorated bedrooms: a double, a twin and a single, as well as a charming family bathroom. Heading outside via the French doors, you will find a sheltered and enclosed garden with outdoor furniture, providing a lovely spot to relax in at the end of a great day. In the adjoining barn there's a pool table for all the family to enjoy.

 

Fantastic walks are available from the doorstep, with local attractions and landmarks including Usk Reservoir (10 miles), the National Showcaves Centre for Wales (8.5 miles), the Red Kite Feeding Station (12.5 miles) and the peak of Pen y Fan (15.5 miles). The nearby villages of Defynnog (4.5 miles) and Sennybridge (5.5 miles) provide a great choice of friendly pubs for you to relax in. Also within easy reach is the bustling cathedral town of Brecon (14 miles) which has a variety of independent shops, welcoming pubs, and a variety of restaurants.

For people like us who love walking straight from the door/watching birds and wildlife/relaxing in peace and quiet, the location is superb. Luckily the weather was fantastic and we enjoyed a variety of walks with stunning views of the wonderful landscape. The cottage is" traditional-rural" but comfy and well-equipped; we particularly appreciated thRead moree generous store of logs for the wood burner which we used on several evenings, also the second freezer stocked with farm products for sale. What a beautiful, tranquil, serene place to stay. Everything we needed was provided, including charging our car. Absolutely perfect. There is so much walking available we managed tremendous routes everyday and will definitely be back for more. Settling in front of the fire after gorgeous days exploring was utterly wonderful. The cottage had everything that was required to make you feel really at home. It is ideally located as a base to both walk and tour in the Brecon Beacons. There is an abundance of wildlife in both the area near the cottage and further afield.

Cottage is rustic, peaceful and quiet, idyllic setting. It was lovely to wake up to the sounds of cows and sheep in the fields. Very well equipped kitchen. Beds were so comfortable which was very welcome after a day of walking round the beautiful countryside. If you want a relaxing holiday in a gorgeous location I recommend this lovely cottage.

Beautiful cottage in a peaceful, relaxing location. Lovely, friendly owners who are there to help with anything you need. Great walks right on the doorstep with four waterfalls walk and Pen y Fan a short drive away.
