A picture-perfect property ideal for families of four or two couples. Situated in a sleepy hamlet on the cusp of the Brecon Beacons National Park and close to Usk Reservoir, this cottage is in a peaceful and tranquil location. You’ll be able to access fantastic walks from the doorstep and visit the sights of the Brecon Beacons easily.
This country cottage is a former Sunday School, converted into a charming home away from home. It’s a reverse-level property, so you’ll find the bedrooms downstairs (originally stables for horses) and the bright and airy living space upstairs. The sumptuous lounge is a great place to relax, socialise and unwind - fire up the wood burner to keep warm on chilly Welsh evenings. There are two bathrooms and two bedrooms, so whether you’re staying with family or friends, there’ll be plenty of room for all. Head outside and you’ll find a small and sunny courtyard area complete with patio furniture and a BBQ for when it’s warm enough to enjoy some al fresco dining.
Opposite the property is a lovely woodland, that comes to life in spring and summer buzzing with wildlife, a great place for you to take a morning stroll. Usk Reservoir (3 miles) is also a fantastic place to spot wildlife and is a particularly popular place for birdwatching. Head 14.5 miles to Crychan Forest and find waymarked trails for walking and cycling throughout. After a busy day, head 5 miles to Sennybridge and discover some lovely restaurants and pubs to whet your appetite. Alternatively, for a wider variety of eateries and a plethora of independent shops, visit Brecon (14 miles).
