Wonderful lodge on the slopes of the Sugar Loaf Mountain, boasting instantly welcoming decor, endless walks from its doorstep and plenty of welcoming country pubs nearby.

Escape to the serene landscape of the Usk Valley and stay in this cosy property on the slopes of the Sugar Loaf Mountain, a destination that’s ideal for couples, families and small groups. Whether you are tempted by the area’s gastronomic reputation, the abundance of scenic walks or the pretty market towns scattered near and far, you’ll find an activity to suit you. Return to relax in style on your private terrace with a glass of wine, or take the half a mile stroll to the nearby pub for a slap-up meal to round off your day.

Accessed through French doors which open onto beautiful, shared gardens which offer views of the countryside beyond, your comfortable single-storey retreat is a delightful home away from home. Settle down for film nights in the lounge, or plan a laid-back evening of delicious food and board games around the table, using the handy country cottage-style kitchen for whipping up tasty treats. Two bedrooms provide a welcome sanctuary after a busy day, one featuring a double bed and the other a zip and link king-size bed, sharing a contemporary shower room. Outside, the terrace leads to the sauna, gardens and a small patch of woodland that’s often occupied by resident wandering pheasants, and you’ll be able to access a footpath leading to the mountain from your doorstep. Shared laundry facilities are also available on-site.

Explore on foot, by bike or even by the medium of your taste buds thanks to the myriad of gastropubs and restaurants located within 9 miles of the property. Crickhowell 2 miles away is a market town brimming with potential for interesting day trips thanks to the motte and bailey castle, independent shops and eateries. Further afield, Abergavenny is 5 miles away and boasts a popular annual food festival as well as a castle and museum to tempt budding historians and foodies alike.

We didn't realise just how steep the path and steps were up to the property. Wi-fi is a bit hit n miss. Beds are very comfy, water pressure is excellent so great for a good shower. Lovely and clean in the property.

A most enjoyable week spent in a fantasically located lodge. Very relaxing away from any hustle & bustle, deep in the mid Wales countryside. We didn't use hot-tub, sauna or bar-b-que but everything is well maintained & ready to go. Would definitly return in near future.

Very clean cottage, cannot fault the friendliness of the owners, nothing is too much trouble for them. Huge garden and great for dogs but remember it is shared with the cottage attached to you and sitting out or using the bbq at the same time can feel awkward. Excellent location and great pub 2 mins walk away.
