Make yourself at home in this glorious abode which is brimming with charm and character. Sitting beside a beautiful pond with lily pads galore, enjoy evenings basking in the sunshine after days adventuring in the great outdoors. An idyllic retreat for a romantic getaway, pack your bags and escape to the country for a holiday to remember.
Its magical setting amidst water, blooms and trees gives this dwelling a secluded feel despite sitting next to the owner’s farmhouse. Its glorious stone exterior boasts country charm which continues inside. Find yourself sitting on inviting sofas next to exposed stone walls and characterful arrow-slit windows and, on warm days, throw open the French doors and let the fresh air flood inside. Make your way over to the kitchen area in the open-plan living space and rustle up delicious feasts which can be plated up either inside or out for date-night meals with a glass of something cold. The cottage shares a courtyard with the farmhouse but has its own private patio to the rear where you can fire up the BBQ and sit beneath the stars. Climb to the first floor to rest your head in the master bedroom where sloping ceilings and exposed beams add character. Soak in the roll-top bath or freshen up in the walk-in shower to start your day.
Wander down to the shepherd’s hut to plan the day’s adventures in front of the wood burner. Travel 3 miles to Hay-on-Wye, a pretty, literary town where you can hop on the Offa’s Dyke Path or the Wye Valley Walk after browsing the plethora of book shops. The highest summit in South Wales, Pen-y-Fan, is a 25-mile journey and the hike to the top is well worth the panoramic views across the Brecon Beacons National Park.
