Property code: BN142

A welcoming holiday apartment for two, situated on a 20-acre smallholding from which they can head off to explore Monmouthshire.

Escape the crowds with a stay at this romantic bolthole for two in the scenic Welsh countryside less than 3 miles from Usk. It’s on a working farm next door to the owner’s home, with footpaths and cycle routes leading straight from your doorstep. Pack a picnic and head out for a day of adventure in the vast wilderness of Monmouthshire.

This stylish ground-floor apartment is elegantly furnished, with warm tones that make it an inviting place to relax when you’re not out and about. Fire up the wood burner in the lounge and settle down to watch TV or a DVD of your favourite film. The conservatory is a lovely spot to read a book or just sit with a glass of wine, taking in the beautiful views out over the garden and fields. Cook hearty breakfasts and intimate dinners with seasonal produce bought from the farm. On a warm evening, take your drinks outside to toast the natural beauty of the Vale of Usk. When it’s time for bed, climb under the covers in the pretty double bedroom and settle down for a peaceful night’s sleep.

The lovely riverside town of Usk has an 11th-century castle, beautiful gardens and a historic town trail to explore. For a longer distance step count, follow the Usk Valley Walk, which heads towards Abergavenny. Stop off at a rustic pub if you need to refuel. An 8-mile drive will take you to the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park for epic mountain hikes and cycle rides. Head about 7 miles in the other direction to reach the Wye Valley. You’re surrounded by natural beauty whichever way you turn in this part of the world.

A lovely cottage attached to owners property but extremely private the owners were on hand for any help you may need but are not intrusive. Beautiful views all round, we spent many an hour watching all the different birds feeding from the feeders daily. The wine and jam was much appreciated as were the plums fresh from the tree. A very nice pub whiRead morech do delicious meals is just at the top of the lane about a mile away, wish it was nearer our home in Derbyshire. Thank you Sue and Dave Carole&Barry Hide
