Two en-suite bedrooms are ready to welcome up to four people at this remarkable stone barn conversion on the slopes of the Black Mountains.

Stay at this superb converted 17th-century stone barn. The house has two en-suite bedrooms making it an ideal stay for a group of four friends, or a small family. Indoors is super spacious, brimming with character and well-equipped for your stay. The kitchen has plenty of room for preparing and cooking a meal and an oak table with chairs for all to enjoy dining together. The two king-size bedrooms both have en-suites, so there’ll be no queues for the bathroom in the morning. The rooms have magnificent views across the Usk Valley, and underfloor heating throughout the ground floor level means you’ll be warm whatever the Welsh weather throws at you.

At the base of the Black Mountains, you won’t have to travel far to find a fantastic route for walking or cycling. Loved our stay at the Cynfin Old Cottage. Great farm location in the mountains of South Wales. Incredible view across the nearby Brecon valley and Tretower castle. Real honeymoon destination.

What a wonderful location. The views from the cottage were stunning. The cottage was comfortable and well equipped. Spending some time on a working farm was a great experience; especially when the very friendly farm dog decided to accompany us on a morning walk. Everywhere we drove in the area was a joy. For me; being in the area of Crickhowell wheRead morere I was born and where I have fond childhood memories was marvellous. Hide

The view from the house and the terrace is just terrific - even when the weather is not perfect. Well-furnished and comfortable sitting room and good-sized kitchen. Light and airy inside. Parking was easy and the road is tarmac all but the last 20 yards, so no problem. Had a great week and no hesitation in recommending it.

We had a fabulous week at Cynfin Old House. Plenty of space for 3 of us, comfy sofa and chairs, comfy beds, and the under floor heating was lovely. The log burner is a great touch, though we didn't need it as we were fortunate with the weather. The views from the patio are amazing and, if you bring some bird seed with you, you'll get sparrows and rRead moreobins coming for their breakfast every day. Others have mentioned the access track, yes it is a narrow farm track but we managed it in a Ford S-Max. Hide

The location was glorious, with amazing views. We were concerned about the long drive up a farm track, but it was very easy. However, the road was littered with plastic and rubbish which was very off putting. Cottage compact but comfortable and very clean. We've had the pleasure of staying in Cynfin Old House twice now because of a covid postponed wedding, our family stayed in the other Cynfin cottages and they are all stunning with great facilities and even better views, perfect location for exploring the Brecon Beacons, would very happily stay again.
