An old stone farmhouse originally dating from the 1800s, here tradition meets modernity to create a charming holiday home for all the family. Delightfully situated in the peace and quiet of several acres of rugged landscape, and within 2 miles of the bustling town of Crickhowell.

Surrounded by several acres of picturesque water meadows with a babbling brook and rich in wildlife, this pretty stone farmhouse is in the perfect location for a family getaway to the rural beauty of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Outdoor enthusiasts can make the most of the incredible landscapes, with a nearby Site of Special Scientific Interest for nature lovers. The vibrant town of Crickhowell is just over 2 miles away with a varied selection of eateries and independent shops to wander around.

Dating from the 1800s, this cosy farmhouse boasts original features and traditional country style, while still meeting the needs of modern living. Relax in front of the wood burner, with a stone fireplace and oak beams that add plenty of character. A convenient central island and Belfast sink make the kitchen well-equipped for family feasts, which can be enjoyed at the dining area with a second wood burner and a charming stable door out to the garden. The first pretty bedroom is located downstairs and benefits from patio doors out onto a courtyard for a refreshing morning coffee. Up the steep wrought-iron spiral stairs are a further three lovingly decorated bedrooms and plenty of bathroom space for eight guests. Aside from the courtyard, there is also a large enclosed garden with garden furniture and a BBQ for al fresco dining.

If you can draw yourself away from the beauty of the landscapes on your doorstep, there are a variety of popular walks and notable sites only slightly further afield. Behind the property is Craig-y-Cilau, known for its wealth of nature, while Llangattock Mountain and Llangattock Escarpment provide more challenging walks. Near here are the caves of Agen Allwedd for a fascinating outdoor experience. Enjoy a more relaxing stroll along the River Usk into Crickhowell, where you can indulge in a lovely meal out with the family.

This cottage is in a beautiful spot so peaceful all you hear is the birds. The equipment is the best I have ever seen in a rental cottage. All of our party really loved it and the beautiful walks along the rivers and canals which are close by. Crickhowell is a real bonus.

Lovely cottage in a great scenic location, with quiet (& hilly walks) from the front door. Enough off of the beaten track to feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, but within walking distance of village, and easy drive to most areas of the Beacons. Would certainly have no hesitation to book again.
