Romantic hideaway in the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park. One of three properties located on a working farm with livestock roaming the estate and fishing available in the River Crai on-site.

A picture-perfect bolthole, this two-person cottage in Crai is ideal for exploring Mid Wales and the Brecon Beacons National Park. Located on a 220-acre working farm, the property is surrounded by sprawling fields and scenic rural landscape, perfect for those looking for a peaceful escape. Get out on invigorating country walks, head to the local village of Sennybridge (3 miles) for a meal in the pub and return to hunker down on the sofa with a book, enjoying a relaxing getaway.

One of three lovingly converted cottages, this one-bedroom, one-bathroom property is just right for solo escapes and romantic hideaways. Quirky, country decor throughout will make you feel at home. The heart of the cottage, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is accessed via a step down and is a cosy space for perusing local maps and reading books. For meals in, the pretty kitchen has everything you could need for rustling up feasts, including an oven and hob. And, if you get muddy on your explorations, there is even a washing machine too. For other gear and extra food, a secure outhouse stores a freezer and has room for bikes and outdoor kit.

For days when you just feel like lighting up the BBQ and relaxing with a cool drink, this cottage has a small patio space to the front with BBQ and outdoor seating. Other days, you can branch out to explore the Welsh countryside, from the picturesque valleys to the national park’s highest mountain, Pen y Fan (14.5 miles). Brecon (14 miles) has lots of restaurants, shops and cafés as well as a castle, museum and canal walk. For a completely different side of the National Park, the National Showcaves Centre (7.5 miles) is ideal for underground adventures.

We had a wonderful stay for 4 nights in this lovely little cottage. It was so comfy and cosy, and given the picturesque and remote location, it was the perfect spot to relax and unwind. Will definitely be staying here again!

Well equipped and comfortable cottage on a working farm. There are 3 units within one building and we were at one end. The cottage is compact but great for 2 people. . Remote enough to be lovely and quiet but easy drive to fully explore the surrounding area.

Decor, cleanliness and facilities were all fantastic! We have just returned from a week at the Barley Store and despite some bad weather some days (it is Wales after all) we had a lovely holiday. We had a fabulous stay at the Barley Store. The cottage was warm, cosy and well-equipped, and the view from the picnic area was stunning. A peaceful and idyllic place, but within easy reach of interesting market towns and scenic local walks. Thanks again to the Jones family!

Beautiful location and beautiful accommodation. If you want peace and quiet this is where to find it. You can hear the sheep sometimes as it is a working farm but we found that quite lovely. Stargazing is a must and the owners provided a large map of the Brecon Beacons which made it easy for us to plan where to go. The cottage itself is beautiful.
