Wedding of 2019!

Well! Who said it always rains in Wales? Last Saturday was the hottest day of the year and it was the day that Lucy, Brecon Beacons Holiday Cottages' wonderful photographer, got married to Sam Harper, my God Son.

The Wedding

The service was in St. Edmunds Church in Crickhowell – and even the Bishop of Lahore flew over to be present – Lucy’s parents used to be missionaries in Pakistan. This is where Lucy grew up and she obviously has very fond memories.

We have a very multi-talented team here in the office. Ceri from the office did the gorgeous flowers – they were simple and stylish. Sophie who used to work here did the bride's makeup.

The Reception

Afterwards the reception was in a marquee in Llanfrynach on the farm beside my old cottage and Llanbrynean where Simon and Netty Harpur used to farm. Lots of going down memory lane.

Several of the larger and groups of our Brecon Beacons Holiday Cottages were booked up for visiting families so they could all spend time together. There were uncles, aunts and cousins from the Hebrides – sporting the Gold Kilts.  Another branch of the family from Dorset, visitors form Portugal, France, Singapore and New Zealand that I spoke to.

I know that they particularly loved Glaslyn so they could all eat and chat together. Then there was Marina View, Dragonfly and Bullrush Cottages at the Marina in Pencelli which everyone loved the understated stylishness.

What a day to show off The Brecon Beacons – I am sure the word will be spread by some very happy wedding guests.
