Trosnant Cottage - The cosiest yellow New Years bolt-hole beneath the Brecon Beacons

Nestled beneath the Brecon Beacons, Trosnant Cottage provided the perfect New Years bolt-hole.

As city dwellers with very busy lives we were seeking solitude and quiet with a good dose of mountain walking to blow away the cobwebs. Trosnant Cottage provided exactly that, if not more. A stones throw from the picturesque Brecon Beacons yet very near to Brecon town. Frosty mornings, stunning mountain views, hikes up the mountains - were the absolute antidote to our NW London lives, we had a real chance to ’switch off’ read more, breathe the fresh mountain air and properly relax as a family.

The cottage was so peaceful, warm, cosy and with a spacious kitchen. Stunning views from the kitchen window of the Brecon Beacons. As a family of walkers we loved the fact there was a back kitchen for dumping muddy boots and hanging wet coats. Trosnant Cottage has an easy to navigate central heating system, super comfy sitting room and well equipped kitchen- all this made for perfect family holiday. An incredibly practical ‘home from home’, nothing too over fussy or smart that we were terrified to really relax, (as has happened in other rental properties). The beds were also super comfy and the house in general so clean and well organised.

I lost count of the amount of times we walked up The Cribyn, one of the mountains you can see in the photo below. Very much looking forward to visiting again in the Spring.
