Book a stay at The Tower, a Grade-II listed building that'll put you in mind of a fairytale as soon as you get eyes on it. Artists View, Brecon - If your idea of a romantic activity is taking a stroll through stunning Woodland Trust managed land, look no further than this converted cow byre just a short distance from Brecon. There's an old bottle kiln fireplace to cosy up in front of when its cold, and a veranda to relax on when it isn't. Be sure to visit the impressive hill fort of Pen-y-Crug while you're in the area - if you can tear yourself from the veranda, that is!

Alma Cottage

Alma Cottage, Crickhowell - Wild strawberries and pink valerian adorn the ancient stone walls of this self-catering 'quarryman's cottage' that is thought to date back to the 1800s. Inside, spiral steps lead up to the cosy bedroom while the original fireplace keeps things nice and toasty. Outside, you're only a short walk away from three of Llangattock's top pubs, as well the beautiful Church of St Catwg.
