Book a last minute trip to the sun!

Yes. It's true. The sun is really coming to the Brecon Beacons. If you're in desperate need of a bit of vitamin D, there's no need to book a trip overseas, you can bask in the sunshine here in the mountains. Here's our top 3 things to do in the sunshine:

  1. Book a canoeing trip down the Wye - Try Wye Valley Canoes or Canoe Hire to book the canoes, and you could stay at Beacons Outlook which is close by and the terrace is a sun trap.
Take some time to stop and stare - Rather than pack in a tonne of activities take a break while you're here. Treworgan Court Coach House makes it easy to do very little. It's one of our easiest cottages to get to, and we think the bench at the top of the hill there is one of the best contemplation spots. Plan a hike - Make a picnic, pack your OS map and your sun tan lotion and take on one of the area's many day-walks. You can take on Southern Britain's highest peaks, explore the wilderness of the Western National Park or even explore the pubs along the canal path. Book Bryn Bwthyn to enjoy the views and take on some spectacular hikes in the Black Mountains. It's a 40 minute walk through the fields to Hay - where you can stock up on picnic fare and have a fortifying cup of coffee - and then take on the climb up Hay Bluff.
