Transport

There are train stations in many of the towns in the area including Merthyr Tydfil, and Aberdare.  In addition, Brecon Mountain Railway runs from Pant station, just north of Merthyr.  For up to date information, have a look at Traveline Cymru. There are also plenty of local taxi firms that will be happy to help you reach your destination.

Shopping

Most of the towns in the southern National Park have reasonable shopping facilities.  In addition, Merthyr Tydfil has several retail parks and is home to many of the high street chains of shops and restaurants.
