Builth Wells boasts a very rare postbox, one of very few across the UK that bear the cypher of King Edward VIII, the uncrowned king who renounced the throne in favour of marrying the divorcee Wallis Simpson.

Gilfach Longhouse and Nature Reserve, a short drive away makes an excellent day out. Open all year round, visitors will enjoy discovering the nature trails and spotting wildlife amongst the beautiful scenery.

Close to the town centre, the Groe area lies along the banks of the River Wye and is a great spot for children to play and for sports. With a covered swimming pool, children’s play area, tennis courts and bowling green - this pretty location offers breathtaking views and has plenty to keep the family busy.

The Wyeside Arts Centre incorporates a 2 screen cinema and a theatre, putting on a variety of productions including ballet, opera and children’s shows - a great option on a rainy day!

The leisure centre offers a swimming pool, squash courts and a gym and Builth Golf Club has an 18-hole course with stunning views.
