Llanfrynach Area
| "Llanfrynach Village is small and quiet only two and a half miles south-east of Brecon." |
| Llanfrynach has one pub called the White Swan, which has recently been reburbished to a high standard and provides excellent food in their bar and restaurant. In the centre of the village is an attractive Church, the fine Church Tower was rebuilt in 1855 and is surrounded by a large churchyard and some fine houses. In 1783 a Roman Villa was discovered west of the village with its bathhouse and mosaics, but cannot now be seen. The River Usk and the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal with its famous aqueduct over the river are nearby. Llanfrynach nestles in the foothills of the Beacons so this is an ideal location from which to walk. There is a bus service, which runs through the village several times a day, useful for those not wishing to drive or with no transport. |
