| "Historic village situated in the heartland of the national park" |
| Libanus is a small village approximately 5 miles south west of Brecon, it is situated at the base of the Beacons and has the most spectacular views of Pen-y-Fan.
It is possible to walk straight onto the Beacons from the village and is a perfect location for those wishing to explore the National Park. The Brecon Beacons National Park Visitor Centre is situated within 2 miles of Libanus where there are spectacular views of the Beacons, you can discover more about the heritage of the National Park and is well worth a visit. The centre is situated on Mynydd Illtyd (this is a large common where sheep and wild ponies graze). This grazing land has a Bronze Age Cairn and a Roman road which runs across the middle of the common towards Sennybridge. The Tair Bull Inn is the village pub and provides good home cooked food. Libanus is approximately one hour from Cardiff, Swansea and The Gower Coast. Merthyr Tydfil and the nearest Railway Station is 15 miles.
