Glasbury
GLASBURY is beautifully situated on the River Wye with the impressive back drop of the Black Mountains; only a few yards walk to the riverside meadows and common land which are peaceful, and ideal for picnics,swimming and boating. The River is wide as this point with long grassy banks, which is used for swimming and bathing. There is a river- side Cafe /bistro, a village shop, pub and garage. A canoe centre offers hire at reasonable rates and tuition if necessary. Another Outdoor Pursuits Centre offers all types of activities and there is pony trekking and riding nearby. The town of books Hay-on-Wye is only 4 miles away; It is 12½ miles to Brecon and 28 miles to Hereford and the nearest railway station.
