Head up the mile-long rugged track to the front entrance (note: access with a 4 x 4 vehicle). Step inside to find charming country-style interiors with an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area, a beautiful stone tile floor, and huge oak posts separating the kitchen from the rest of the ground floor. After a day of adventures, settle into cosy seating by the original bread oven and Welsh dresser, and enjoy the warmth of the open fire under low ceilings with handsome rustic beams. As night falls, clamber up cottage-style stairs to find two cosy bedrooms with exposed beams, and a spacious shower room. Outside, the pretty garden offers spectacular countryside views.
Step out and explore this natural landscape where you’ll find spectacular vistas and panoramic views of the Brecon Beacons National Park from every level from Begwn Hills (1 mile). Try a variety of outdoor pursuits - kayak down the River Wye at Glasbury (5 miles), or try abseiling, gorge walks, and hand-gliding near Llangorse Lake (14 miles). You’ll meet mountain ponies, sheep, and birdlife along the way too. Head into the literary town of Hay-on-Wye (6.5 miles) where you’ll find a wonderful variety of second-hand book shops, cafes and restaurants, along with an annual arts festival.
