Ty Canol - A stylish and comfortable village house

A spacious house located in the popular village of Llangorse, Ty Canol (or house at the centre) dates back to 1846 but is probably a lot older. It combines a roomy, stylish interior with a fantastic village location. Live the village life with a stroll to the local shop and a quiet pub lunch before heading home and curling up in front of the woodburning stove with a good book. Whatever you are looking for in a holiday, you'll find it in the Brecon Beacons and Ty Canol will provide the perfect base for up to 9 people.

Roses round the door and space for a large family

Ty Canol offers stylish and comfortable accommodation. This attractive village house has all the features that you might expect with a wonderful wood-burning stove, a fantastic cream, oil-fired AGA and a claw foot roll-top bath. However, Ty Canol also provides unexpected space with 5 bedrooms, a large bathroom, shower room and downstairs cloakroom and the extra flexibility of a spacious conservatory. Larger parties will appreciate the roomy kitchen and children and adults will find the enclosed garden with its two patio seating areas a real plus. Ty Canol is extremely well equipped and beautifully restored - a great space for days in with the family.

Great views and a central location

Many holiday cottages within the Brecon Beacons are quite isolated and most require a car journey to stock up on supplies - not the case at Ty Canol. With its central, village location you can leave the car at home. Why not take the short walk to the small local shop, send your post cards home from the local post office and then pop into one of the village pubs for a spot of lunch.

Discover Llangorse Lake

Llangorse Lake is the largest natural lake in South Wales and has become a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Head down to the water and hire a rowboat to enjoy a peaceful cruise whilst surrounded by the stunning scenery of the Brecon Beacons. Try your hand at water skiing or sailing - pedaloes and canoes are also available to hire. Those interested in fishing need look no further; Llangorse is renowned for its Pike fishing. If you are not a water baby, the site also boasts Wales' leading indoor climbing centre, the unique Sky Trek - a series of connected zip lines that take you through trees, down the mountainside, and numerous pony trekking and riding centres. There is more than enough at the Lake alone to keep any family busy.

Self catering village accommodation

Ty Canol offers generous accommodation and sleeps a maximum of 9 people in 5 pretty bedrooms. The very spacious Shaker-style kitchen has lots of character with quirky touches and houses a large dining table and chairs. Superbly equipped with a cream oil-fired AGA (usually in use between November and April), an electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, the kitchen also has a walk-in pantry and top of the range crockery. A separate utility room houses a washing machine and provides a useful drying space for coats and boots. There is a large conservatory with an extra table and chairs and a downstairs cloakroom with toilet and handbasin as well as access to the secure garage. The large sitting room features an attractive original stone fireplace with woodburning stove. It is comfortably furnished with two three-seater sofas and a two-seater sofa as well as a TV and DVD player.

Upstairs, the first floor has a double room with lovely painted iron bedstead, stripped pine floor and cosy rugs. The second room is a twin bedroom with lovely matching bedlinen and a wash basin. Bedroom three has a set of bunk beds, ideal for children. The spacious new bathroom has a claw foot roll top bath with handheld shower, toilet and handbasin.

Up a second flight of stairs to the upper floor and two further bedrooms. The first features a king-sized bed with large Velux windows and views across the village to Llangorse Lake and the Beacons beyond. The final bedroom is a single room with good views. A separate shower room with shower cubicle, toilet and handbasin services this floor.
