The Retreat

A beautiful spacious ground floor apartment within the 17th century wing of this large country house,  It is located near the village of Pandy to the north of Abergavenny.  The apartment has been refurbished to a very high standard.  The open plan living area has large sash windows over looking the wooded garden.  The patio area to the front of the apartment overlooks the wooded grounds boasting 51 tree species including one of the oldest Ginkgo Biloba trees in the country and a wide variety of birdlife.

Accommodation

Sleeps 2, 1 bedroom.  The modern wooden kitchen is complete with fridge, freezer, washing machine/dryer, dishwasher, electric oven, hob and microwave.  The living area has a modern style electric fire and comfortable sofa's - one of which is a useful sofa-bed, Freeview TV and DVD.  The wet room style bathroom has a large shower area, bath, toilet and washbasin.

Bedroom 1:  a comfortable double well appointed bedroom.

  • Electricity and oil central heating.
  • Own water supply from a mountain spring.
  • Pets are welcome on discussion - preferably only one.
  • Non Smoking.
  • Variable mobile coverage. 
  • The owners also run a Bed and Breakfast which maybe useful for extra visitors.
  • It should be noted that the property is accessed via a shared unmetaled driveway.
  • There is parking for 2 cars.

    Easy access to the Offa's Dyke footpath through the Black Mountains

    For those wishing to venture further afield, there is easy access to the Offa's Dyke footpath through the Black Mountains only 1/2 mile away, whilst the Brecon Beacons are a short drive away.

    The nearest market town of Abergavenny is 6 miles. Pandy with a local pub and Garage/shop 1 mile. Llanthony 7 miles. Hay-on-Wye 17 Miles. Blaenavon World Heritage Site 13 miles.
