Priory Mill Farm Granary

The Priory Mill Farm Granary is accessed up a flight of stone steps. The Granary is adjacent to the 18th century farmstead with its adjoining stone outbuildings and is truly unique, with the addition of the only surviving un-developed water powered corn-mill on the River Honddu; this is just across the cobbled courtyard from the granary. The farm and Mill were once part of the Marquis of Camden's Estate this very important Grade II * listed Water Mill is undergoing a gradual and painstaking internal restoration by the owners.

FISHING for wild trout and salmon on River Honddu.

Just beyond the watermill runs the River Honddu, now regarded as one of the most important rivers in Europe, being dedicated as a "Site of Special Scientific Interest" and a "Special Area of Conservation", having such a huge range of rare wild life, including otter, salmon, miller-thumb, British crayfish, dippers, kingfishers and lesser horseshoe bats. There are beautiful private walks beside the river or in the ancient woodland which is amassed with bluebells and wood anemones in the spring.

This secluded granary and farmhouse is a 10 to 15 minute woodland or riverside walk, 1/2 mile, from the centre of the historic Georgian town of Brecon.
