Pentwyn dates from the early 1600's and has been most sympathetically and well restored to very high standard, making this a warm, comfortable and fascinating place to stay. The house is one of three dwellings approached through a private wood, and up a fairly steep lane through the remote Yscir Fechan valley on the edges of The Mynydd Epynt. There are amazing views from the cottage over the surrounding countryside and it would be tempting on a nice day just to sit in the sunshine watching the red kite, buzzards and other wild life that abound. Guest are welcome to explore the 500 acres of scenic countryside that surrounds the property and the nearby Epynt Way walk, a 40 miles waymarked route (developed by the Army circumnavigating army land for public use) passes near the house through upland moorland. The owners have developped three coarse fishing ponds which are a haven for wildlife, set amongst an idyllic backdrop of rolling fields and quiet leafy valleys.
