Set in an extremely peaceful valley location, Pentrebach Cottage offers fresh, modern and comfortable accommodation on the western side of the Brecon Beacons and close to Fforest Fawr Geopark, the first in Wales. This cottage is ideal for families with its wonderfully spacious kitchen diner and the sitting room with patio doors leading out on to the large, enclosed garden. A quiet and comfortable base from which to explore the 65km of walking and mountain bike trails through Crychan Forest and The Epynt Way. Pentrebach Cottage sleeps 4 people in one double room and a second, twin bedroom.

Fabulous kitchen

Whilst you're on holiday you may choose to pop into nearby Llandovery and enjoy a meal at one of the many pubs and restaurants, however if you fancy cooking at Pentrebach Cottage you will not be disappointed. It's rare that a holiday cottage offers such a spacious modern kitchen and the large stainless steel range-style electric oven will easily cater for the family.

Enjoy the well-kept family-friendly garden

Grab a glass of something cool and head out through the double doors from the living room onto the back garden. Sit back and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this corner of the Brecon Beacons. The views over the valley from the cottage are wonderful and if you look up you may spot a Red Kite soaring overhead. With its well-kept flowerbeds and lawns the garden here at Pentrebach Cottage is a safe, enclosed environment for the children to play in - there is even storage for your mountain bikes.

Fforest Fawr Geopark

In case you haven't come across the term before, a Geopark is an area with an outstanding geological heritage and a strategy topromote that heritage for the benefit of the local community and Fforest Fawr was Wales' first and one of only 8 such parks in the UK. Encompassing some 300 square miles over the western side of the Brecon Beacons, Fforest Fawr, which appropriately means 'Great Forest' includes a vast variety of country. Mountains, moorlands, woods and meadows, towns and villages, lakes and rivers and a great deal more besides. Grab an Ordnance Survey map and head out to explore the park by yourself or pick up a trail guide or leaflet. At certain times of year the park offers guided walks but you can also discover Fforest Fawr by horseback or on your bike.

Fresh, modern, comfortable self-catering accommodation

A newly built wing added to the owner's traditional stone cottage, Pentrebach is light, bright and modern. A comfortable, cottage-style sitting room greets you as you enter. It has sofas, chairs, a multi-fuel stove, TV with Freeview, DVD and a CD radio and feels bright and airy, with patio doors leading out to a lovely garden. The kitchen is wonderful, spacious and light with plenty of cupboard space and a range-style electric oven and hob. It also has a microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, dining table and chairs. There is a useful utility room with a second sink and washing machine. The downstairs shower room has a power shower, hand basin and toilet.

Upstairs is carpeted with luxurious thick, cream carpet throughout. There is a master bedroom with a double bed and a large twin bedroom. The bathroom is spacious with a bath, hand basin and toilet.
