Pant Y Bwch (the Cow Byre)

This is an ideal location for either individual holiday makers, families or groups keen to visit the Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons or walk Offa's Dyke Path which passes close to the cottages. The village of Llanfihangel Crucorney is famous for The Skirrid Mountain Inn, which is the oldest pub in Wales and was used as Judge Jeffries' Court. The Skirrid Inn also provides excellent food, as do the other pubs in the village. The famous Walnut Tree Restaurant is also close by. The scenery is superb with the Skirrid Mountain behind the cottages and the Black Mountains just beyond the village. Pen-y-Dre Farm Cottages are ideally situated to explore the Wye Valley, Welsh Border Country, Forest of Dean and the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Accommodation

Sleeps 4 and cot, 2 bedrooms. Large open plan living area with well equipped kitchen, microwave, electric cooker, fridge etc. dining table and chairs, comfortable sofa and chairs and TV.

Bedroom 1: double bedroom

Bedroom 2: twin bedroom.

The bathroom has a bath with shower over, handbasin and toilet. Lawns in front of each cottage have garden furniture and a BBQ is available.

Useful information

  • Duvets, pillows, linen and towels are provided.
  •  Pets welcome - but it should be remembered this is a working farm.
  • There is a laundry room with a coin operated washing machine and tumble dryer. Freezer facilities at the farm.
  • Ample parking close to the cottages.
  • Each cottage has Economy 7 storage heaters plus extra electric fires if required, all electricity and heating.
  • Supermarkets that deliver here are Tesco, Asda,  Sainsbury and Waitrose.

    Three attractive cottages used together can sleep up to 12 people: Pen-y-Dre Farm Cottages is a converted beautiful 17th Century Coach House. Much attention has been paid to the finer details and many original features have been retained, including great oak beams and stone walls giving the cottages a true "country feel". The cottage layouts are similar but they all have individual characteristics and decor. A private drive leads to the front and a few steps lead up to the doors, the living area is on the higher level. There are stairs down to the bedrooms and bathroom which is then level with the farm courtyard! This is a large mixed farm including a few unusual breeds of poultry, sheep, pigs and donkeys. The owners are happy for visitors to explore the farm, which also has a woodland site of special scientific interest.

    Abergavenny is 5 miles, Hereford is 18 miles and Brecon is 25 miles. A regular bus service passes the farm; The nearest train station is at Abergavenny.
