Lothlorien Cottage was originally a Miner's Cottage and dates back to the early 19th century; the cottage has a long and narrow garden which stretches out behind with panoramic views over the hills in the Amman Valley. The long garden would have been where the mining families grew their vegetables. Lothlorien is in the small village of Cwmgors two miles from Brynaman always considered the western gateway to the Brecon Beacons. The village itself stands at the foot of The Black Mountain. Although the mining industry has long gone from this area there are some wonderful historical evidence remaining from its industrial heritage. It is an hour to Swansea and The Gower Peninsula, an hour to Brecon and Abergavenny and only fifteen minutes from the M4 so very convenient for a weekend or visiting family in the area.
