Cottage Facilities
The owner has restored Lichen Barn with their usual superb eye for detail. The kitchen is contemporary with a newly fitted kitchen with an oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and a tumble dryer (access to) a fridge and a separate freezer. There are lovely stone and wooden floors throughout, some beautiful hand made folding doors that lead through to a spacious sitting room with comfortable sofas and chairs and a woodburning stove set in the stone wall with a great oak lintel. TV with Freeview and DVD. There is a dining room with a great hand-made oak table and a Rayburn set in a corner to retain the character of the property. Doors lead out to the patio behind the cottage and then a path leads out to the long flat meadow that, in the "heyday " of the Large house, used to be the croquet lawn. The CROQUET LAWN can still be used to-day.
A spacious downstairs cloakroom has a large shower and a handbasin and toilet.
Up a flight of spiral stairs to three bedrooms:
Bedroom 1: A lovely light bedroom with a brass double bed and granary steps down to the garden.
Bedroom 2: A bedroom with a double bed.
Bedroom 3: A bedroom with a single bed.
The bathroom has a bath, handbasin and toilet.
This beautifully presented old Lichen Threshing Barn is in the same location as Blacksmith House and so could be used together thus sleeping 13 people.
