Carno is a group of three beautifully restored 17th century barns and farmhouse set around a delightful courtyard 2 miles south of the hamlet of Libanus. They are tastefully fitted and furnished throughout with the owners living in one of the barns. An indoor heated swimming pool is available, at an extra charge, on discussion with the owner. Book early to find a spare week. Carno is set in its own 5 acres tucked under the west side of Pen-y-Fan, surrounded by the National Trust and National Park. It has direct access onto the Beacons with lovely views of Carno Woods, the Gyrn and Craig Cerrig Gleisiad.
Cottage accommodation
Sleeps 4. Kitchen has spotlights and small breakfast bar. Large conservatory features spectacular views towards the Beacons. Living room features oak beam and log-effect fire in the fireplace. Downstairs bathroom has a bath with electronic aid for the disabled plus shower fitment, handbasin and toilet.
Downstairs there is an electronic day bed which can be moved into the other cottages if required.
Upstairs the bedrooms are set under the eaves
Bedroom 1: has 'super king bed' that splits into twins.
There is also an up stairs bathroom.
Bedroom 2: is a twin room.
Carno is WTB verified for walkers and cyclists. Each property has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms sleeping 4 adults plus a child's bed/ cot and high chair. Fully fitted well-equipped kitchens with oak units, electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher fridge/ freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer in communal drying room. Dining/ sitting rooms have dining table, chairs, sofa, easy chairs, Sky Freesat TV, DVD, video, WI-FI, music centre, oak beams and attractive stone fireplaces. A selection of books, magazines, games, CDs, records and videos, wooden staircases lead up to the bedrooms and second bathroom which feature exposed oak beams.
Useful information
Ty Carno and Carno Bach have been converted from the original 17th century "Beast House". Both have wheelchair access and can be booked in conjunction with each other as a sound proof double door can be opened to allow access through. Carno Bach can be used as an independent ground floor annexe for those with walking difficulties or wheelchair users (Grade 2 Disabled).
