These two properties Kaths Cottage & Swallows Nest are delightful with friendly owners and are approximately 2 miles from Abergavenny now famous for its flourishing Food Festival and 7 miles from Raglan with easy access to Monmouthshire and the Welsh Marches and with its well preserved castle dating from the 14th c. This really is worth a visit. These are perfect cottages to stay in if walking in The Black Mountain or on The Blorenge which can be seen rising up majestically across the valley where very often hang gliders can be seen drifting across the sky. There is the Three Castles Walk passing through Grosmont Castle, Skenfrith Castle and White Castle near Llantilio dating from the 1200's. Abergavenny with the back drop of The Sugar Loaf and Skirrid Mountain is excellent walking.

We were very suprised and pleased upon arrival to our accomodation, the cottage location was easy to find and a perfect base for us to enjoy everything we had planned in the area.
The Cottage was a great size and very homely, the shower was fab! the beds comfortable, plenty of towels, enough space for all yr clothes etc...storage wise - spot on! we were suprised by all the facilities and felt that Kath and steve had thought of everything! there was no need to pack essentials such as, iron, sponges washing up liquid, tea towels tea bags, etc...it was all there!
The Welcome - Amazing! we arrived to fresh homemade bread, marmalade, welsh cakes, milk in the fringe! cereal, loo roll, absolutely perfect start to a brilliant week, we found Kath and Steve were wonderful propiertors, easy to approach and really have provided a place that you cant wait to return to again and again!
