Inglenook Cottage - Llandovery and Llandeilo

Inglenook Cottage is a lovely stone cottage - dating from 1600's - full of character, with a wonderful great inglenook fireplace, heavy oak lintel, a bread oven and great oak beams. Visitors to Inglenook Cottage are always sure of a warm welcome; the cottage is set alongside the owners farmhouse on a very quiet and tidy working farm in the midst of the peaceful Carmarthen Fans with wonderful walking straight from the door. The views from all the windows are stunning and Red Kite are common place, with at least two pairs of Kites nesting on the farm. Beside the cottage is a very private wooden cabin with a STATE OF THE ART HOT TUB (inclusive in the cost of the holiday). A SNOOKER TABLE/POOL TABLE and AN ELECTRIC ORGAN so plenty to keep everyone occupied.

Cottage details

The kitchen/dining room is very spacious with an electric cooker. Microwave, dishwasher, slow cooker, fridge and a separate freezer. Washing machine, etc. There is a long dining table and chairs and an old oak settle, with plenty of space in this lovely light room.

The sitting room is again very large with the impressive stone inglenook fireplace now with a very efficient wood burning stove - this stops all the heat escaping up the chimney as it used to do. Sofas and chairs are gathered around the fire and there is a flat screen TV, SKY, with DVD and video. There is a very popular three quarter size POOL TABLE or a half size SNOOKER TABLE and an ELECTRIC ORGAN - so great fun for a party. The owners, who live next door have left a good supply of books and games for a wet day.

Upstairs to three bedrooms:

Bedroom 1: has a double bed
Bedroom 2: has twin beds
Bedroom 3: has a double bed

There is a separate toilet
Family bathroom with bath with a shower over and a wash handbasin.

Adjoining the cottage  there is a large well kept lawn for children to play with garden furniture and a BBQ.

Inglenook Cottage at Gwydre Farm is ideal for families and depending on the season the friendly farm owners are happy for children to feed the lambs, collect the eggs, watch the cows and the calves or simply play in the fields or walk around the 383 acres of farmland. I want to stress how lovely clean, picturesque and well kept this Award Winning Farm really is. It is set at the foot of the Black Mountain, set amongst the breathtaking scenery of the Brecon Beacons National Park. A perfect location for hill walking, mountain biking, pony trekking and especially bird watching with a Red Kite Feeding Station only a mile up the lane.  It is not unknown for there to be 50 to 60 Red Kites at the feeding station throughout the year where visitors can sit in a "hide" very close to the feeding birds! - it is impossible to miss them staying on this farm. There are a variety of opportunities to fish for Trout and Salmon and for Coarse fishing on the nearby lakes and reservoirs.

The small hamlet of Llanddeusant is close to Llangadog the Heart of the Towy Valley, close to Bethlehem, famous for franking letters at Christmas and Myddfai now where Prince Charles has his Welsh Seat.

Visitors can visit The Lluest Horse and Pony Trust, or walk just up the valley to the stunningly beautiful and blue Llyn y Fan Fach meaning Little Lake which lies below the towering ridges of the Carmarthen Fans. The sense of mystery only is only deepened by the local legend of a beautiful woman who appeared out of the lake to marry a local farmer. The nearest village is Llangadog with local shops and village pubs with some really good places to eat. In Llandovery There is also The Castle hotel, and the Kings head that is especially recommended

Llangadog 7 miles, Llandovery 12 miles, Llandeilo 14 miles, Brecon 21 miles, Swansea 35 miles
