Useful information
The name Llanilid means 'the land belonging to the church of St. Ilid's' and the farm actually stands on an ancient Roman site - a standing stone marking a Centurion's tomb was found on the farm along with the ruins of St. Ilid's church.
Spend days taking picnics and exploring this wonderful organic farm or get on your bike and visit the nearby hamlets and villages. Keen fishing enthusiasts should read on as there are numerous fishing opportunities and walkers are well catered for with the largely undiscovered western side of the Brecon Beacons to explore.
220 acres of organic farm to discover
Tir Capel is a traditional family farm of some 220 acres, rearing cattle and sheep. The farm is fully organic and is part of the Tir Gofal Environmental Scheme, which helps to preserve and protect the landscape and improve the wildlife habitat. You and the family are welcome to enjoy the numerous walks through woodland and fields, as well as feeding the chickens and meeting the animals. Perhaps take some food and enjoy a picnic down by the river - a short walk from your cottage, or have a BBQ on the patio and admire the clear night skies. When bedtime comes, the cottages are situated well away from the actual working farmyard so a long, comfortable night's sleep awaits.
The Corn View Cottage
Corn View is one of three stylish cottages converted from a range of 18th century barns in an elevated position on the farm. It sleeps 4 in 2 very comfortable bedrooms and although fitted with all the modern requirements, the character is maintained through the lovely oak beams and numerous exposed stone walls. The entrance way is wide enough to allow wheelchair access and there is a spacious downstairs bathroom. Another unique feature of Corn View is its fabulous galleried area on the first floor. Enjoy your morning coffee on the leather chairs whilst taking in the uninterrupted views through the vast window.
Flexible accommodation for up to 10 people
Another significant bonus of Llanilid Cottages is the flexibility. Two cottages sleep 4 people, with the third accommodating a further 2. This makes Llanilid Cottages the ideal choice for a holiday with the family or with friends. Rye Barn sleeps 4, while Barley Store sleeps 2 - both are also available to book through us.
