Carreg Cennen Castle looks down on tiny little hamlet of Trapp from its stunning cliff-top perch. Cennen Lodge is a wonderful cottage for a family or group of friends with plenty of space and the added extras of a large garden, bordered by a safely fenced stream and a terrific games room. With the castle to explore, the pretty town of Llandeilo renown for its excellent restaurants is just 4 miles away and fabulous beaches within a 40-minute drive, or visit The Red Kite Centre at Llandeusant where theses magnificent birds, once almost extinct are fed daily and can be viewed from hides, there is excellent walking and plenty to see and do when you visit Cennen Lodge for all the family.
Self catering accommodation
On the ground floor Cennen Lodge has a lovely oak, country-style kitchen and dining area. There is a Rangemaster double cooker with gas oven, electric oven and 5 ring gas hob, dishwasher, washer/dryer, a large American style fridge/freezer, coffee percolator and large toaster. The dining table seats 8 and there is a wall-mounted flat screen TV. The sitting room has French doors that lead out to the patio and large garden. The room is furnished with 3 comfortable sofas, one of which turns into a double bed, a large TV with Freeview and DVD player. There is also a downstairs cloakroom with handbasin and toilet.

Bedroom 1: master bedroom with king-size bed and lovely views of Cennen Castle. The ensuite has a shower, handbasin and toilet.

Bedroom 3: a double room which also benefits from castle views.

Castell Cennen
A romantic ruin perched atop a 100m-high cliff; Cennen Castle boasts one of the most spectacular castle locations in Europe. The fortress dates back at least as far as the 13th century but there is evidence that the Romans and prehistoric peoples occupied this site centuries earlier. With a dramatic trek through a passageway cut into the cliff-face that leads to a natural cave beneath the fortifications, a visit to Castell Cennen is a true adventure for children and adults alike.

Lose the children (and possibly some of the adults) in the games room that adjoins Cennen Lodge. With pool, darts and air hockey there is plenty to entertain the party on a wet day. Adjoining cloakroom making this is a very useful space, particularly for larger parties.
A great local pub on your doorstep
The Cennen Arms is located within walking distance. It serves wonderful home cooked meals using locally sourced produce and is the heart of the small village of Trapp. The owners of Cennen Lodge also own and run the pub and are happy to share ideas for activities and days out in the area. Spend the evening propping up the bar, gossiping with the locals or enjoy castle views from the beer garden in summer.

We had a wonderful stay in the Cennen Lodge in Trapp; Enough space inside, an enclosed garden, splendid views, clean and tidy rooms, a well-equipped kitchen....The perfect holiday house for 2 couples with little children. The only thing that could be improved about our holiday in wales was the weather, but hey, that's something we knew when we booked this trip.
