Buttercup Barn has been converted to a very comfortable and spacious holiday cottage from an old stone barn, part of which dated from the 18th century. There are the most lovely views from the house, with the horses and sheep in the fields close to the house and the Brecon Beacons in the back ground.
Sleeps 6, 4 bedrooms. The kitchen is very well fitted with a large Bosch single oven with microwave over, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher and hob, ample storage and work space. Kitchen table and chairs. A lovely stone tiled floor. A utility room with handbasin, washing machine and tumble dryer. Plenty of storage room for coats and boots and room for drying things. Downstairs shower room with toilet and handbasin.
The sitting room is very large with comfortable sofas and chairs, a feature stone fireplace with an electric flame effect stove. The dining table and chairs will comfortably seat at least six people. Upstairs there are real oak wooden floors adding to the feeling of space and quality, TV with Freesat, DVD, CD and radio. Large French doors show the stunning view and open out to the garden and terrace.
Up fairly narrow stairs to:
Bedroom 1: There is a balcony with French doors from the master bedroom - making this a magnificent bedroom with a king-size bed and ample space. En suite facilities including shower over bath; there is an inter-linking door if wanted to:
Bedroom 2: single bedroom.
Bedroom 3: single bedroom
Bedroom 4: large bedroom with a double bed and an en suite shower.
The family bathroom has a bath with a shower over, handbasin and toilet
This is a house that I think would be perfect for two small families wishing to stay together - it is very comfortable and warm with the efficient oil central heating, close to Brecon yet situated with a few other dwellings in a rural location. The Griffin at Felin Fach ("The Eat, Sleep and Drink, as it is often called), is an excellent restaurant and pub a few minutes drive down the lane, please make sure you book if you want to eat there as it has won many awards and is always busy. Brecon 6 miles, 12 miles from Hay-on-Wye.
"Visit Wales have awarded Buttercup Barn both the Cyclists Welcome and Walkers Welcome Award which ensures that the accommodation is suited to the needs of cyclists and walkers e.g. Use of an outside tap and hose for cleaning equipment, Maps and Guidebooks available, Drying Area and Storage Area for Clothing and Cycles etc "
